Resignation

Strange things bring me almost to my knees in grief. This morning I was thinking about Poppy and my mother told me that he was fading fast. I then thought about how everyone calls him Poppy the fact that you all are a part of my family and have been so kind and unbelievably helpful. All of that kindness just makes my throat ache.

There is nothing further that can be done and so Poppy has been sent home to die. Once he realized that there was nothing else I can see that he lost hope. He fought the cancer with everything he had and now there is nothing left. In a way it is a blessing and I hope he will not linger long.
